Sultan Sokoto declares September 1 as Sallah

Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, the Sultan of Sokoto, has announced that Muslims in Nigeria would observe Friday, September 1, as Sallah day - The sultan said this is following the sighting of the new moon of Zulhijja on Tuesday - Alhaji Abubakar wished all Muslims Allah’s guidance, blessings and protection The Sultan of Sokoto and chairman, Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, has declared September 1, 2017 as Eid-el-Kabir day. This is contained in a statement signed by Prof. Sambo Junaidu, the chairman, Advisory Committee on Religious Affairs to the Sokoto Sultanate Council.
